Hashtag girlmom. Hashtag somuchhair.
And I still don’t really know how to braid or do hair well. Just ask the lady that cut and styled my hair this week. I’m sure she’s shaking her head seeing what I did with her masterpiece this today. I digress.
N asks me often to brush and braid her hair after a shower. My braiding skills aren’t perfect or even close. In fact, a French Braid is pretty much torture for us all, but I’ll attempt it if asked.
I’ve always been envious of girls and women that could just reach behind their heads and have a beautiful braid. Maybe practicing more is the key? In the mean time, I’m just going to be happy that she wants me to brush and braid her hair.
And it’s practically bonus points that she likes how it looks when I’m done with it. And sometimes, I catch her in a chattier than normal moment and we have some nice mother-daughter conversations while it’s happening. Other times, she will tell me I’m pulling too hard or brushing too hard. It’s all about balance, right? And one day she might not ask me to brush or braid her hair again.
What did you do this week?
