Terrific Kid | Mommy and Me Monday | 501st ed

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Confession… I’m not very good at checking the girls’ folders in a timely manner. I think most of them come home on Thursday and I’m good about looking then, but the rest of the week? It’s hit or miss unless they point something out to me. We get homework done and I try to stay on top of everything.

Either way, I miss things or they come up quickly (or maybe this one did just come home right before).

B was nominated by her teachers for their monthly “Terrific Kid.” I found out the day before the breakfast honoring her. I’m so glad I was able to make it up to the school so I could be there to share in her excitement and also how proud we are of her. The word of the month (well, the first two months of school) was “Respect” and I think that’s a pretty good thing to be rewarded!

She was so excited to have her donut and orange juice and have her name called (very first, but not really in any particular order). I think she was pretty happy I was able to be there, too. She sat next to her friend from her class (she swears she doesn’t know her name, even though I ask specifically if her name is what her name actually is)!

She also made sure I took a picture of her with her certificate and pencil to send to daddy.

I’m very thankful I have the time and flexibility to make it to these things that are so important to them. Sometimes that means really having to flex my brain to figure out how to be three places at once and where everybody needs me to be, but I think they know I’m doing my 110% best.

What did you do this week?

GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Come share your picture on the Facebook thread or use #MommyAndMeMonday!
