Mommy and Me Monday- Post Recital Celebrations (The 49th edition)

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids.  Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.

Dance classes started in August.  Tap and ballet.

She’s a real dancer.

Sunday was her very first recital.  It was the real deal.  With big kids and all.

We planned on ice cream after the recital.

Little did we know, that we wouldn’t get there until after dinner time.

Ice cream for dinner?  Sure, why not.

(Okay, well actually, the girls picked sherbert, I had an ice, and Mr. Serious had fro-yo.  “Ice cream” just sounds better).

Mommy and Me Monday

(I’m quite certain I don’t have pink eye, but my eyes look terrible.  Anybody want to sponsor some LASIK?  And, please tell me how I’ve been dieting and exercising and my face looks even puffier and swollen.)

We always said #1 had crazy hair.  We hadn’t seen #2’s hair at full potential.  I say she’s rocking the Ace Ventura look; Mr. Serious says it’s more Something about Mary.  Either way?  It totally suits her.

Mommy and Me Monday

Happy Monday and happy linking.  I think I visited everybody last week. I really try:)

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies.  If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link.  It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

  2. I would LOVE lasik too! oh, that would be so wonderful!

You look like a Mom having fun with her girls! and ice cream for dinner? that is a GREAT mom! 🙂

    1. Awww…thanks.

And, wouldn’t LASIK be the best? I’m so blind I can’t even see the clock on my bedside table without my glasses on. So tired of it.

  3. You look GREAT!
(But as an aside – I had Lasik in 1999 and it was the BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT!)

    Hope the recital went great!
    xoxo

    1. I’ve heard that! My sister had it, and my mom had RK back in the late 80s! She just now needs reading glasses.

I’d say the recital was quite the success.

  4. Ice Cream for dinner…oh yeah.
All 3 of you look lovely. And wow, dance recital!

      I can’t believe I have a kid old enough for a recital.

We just had our baskin-robbins ice cream few days ago as our dinner lol. Sometimes (as in sometimes only), it’s ok to eat junks anyway 🙂

Loved hearing all about the recital on facebook yesterday!!
    Makes me miss dance 🙂

    1. Honestly, it was painful to watch. I remember us (you know, when we were older) being much better. The older kids were even watching the teacher behind the curtain.

Could you imagine PO doing that for us? I mean, I know we weren’t pros, but I was expecting a little more of the older kids.

  9. Jessica @atl mom guide says:

    Love it!
I want ice cream for dinner…and her hair is hilarious! My kids all have crazy curly hair and my oldest needs a haircut in a bad way!

    1. Would you believe they’ve never had a haircut? I wouldn’t even know what to do.

  10. I love these pictures! I also love your hair in them…the wavy/natural look looks great on you! & I don’t think you look puffy or anything…I know how you feel about the whole dieting thing though! Today is a teacher workday for us & normally that means an hour lunch out somewhere but I brought my half soup & salad from home due to my diet! Bummer!

    1. Thank you! I don’t do it very often, because it still requires work.

I’ve been bringing my lunch during workdays, too. Definitely not fun, but hopefully, it pays off…both with weight and in the bank;)

BTW, how is the budgeting going?

  11. Go Iz go!!!! I know I say this all the time, but they’re growing sooo quickly! That icecream looks delish and I totally LOVE your hair, K!!! HAPPY MONDAY <3

    Love, Mere

    1. Don’t I know it. They are getting way too big and grown up for me.

And, thanks. I don’t do the “crazy hair” as Izzy calls it very often.

  12. Ice cream for dinner is not bad 🙂
My girls do ballet and top dance too every Wednesday. They look cute.

I love Iz hairstyle, it reminded me of my son when he was a baby, he only had few on top of his head long but thin, and the rest of his head was bald. 🙂

  13. I think ice cream for dinner sounds fabulous!

And I don’t see the puffy, but you definitely need some visine!

    1. Thanks…at least you were honest:)

I need an eye-ectomy, really. I even use the prescription drops to help me make more tears and they still look like that!

  14. Izzy looks just like you. I love Nat’s mohawk. When are we going to get to see the video of the recital. I can’t wait.

  15. I love this idea for a blog hop! I will be sure to link up with my personal blog soon! I am always the one behind the camera. This will MAKE me get out from behind it! I’ll be linking up soon! 🙂

Your girls are absolutely adorable too!

    1. Thanks!

We all would love for you to join us. It’s so hard to get pictures with us in them, and hopefully, one day our kids will thank us for it.

  16. She sure had great time dancing, what a pretty young lady she looks in her outfit.

  17. Love me some girly dance recital fun! And love the picture of you with the girls…..but still itching for a picture of sweet Iz in her tutu!

    1. I put one up Wednesday….I can email you the videos, too, if you want to see them. I think it would be poor taste to post them because you can see a lot of other kids.

  18. Cute photos! I just found your Mommy and Me Monday meme — I’m going to try and take part next week.

In the meantime I’m a new follower and enjoyed my first visit to your blog!

    1. We’d love to have you join in…get a picture this week:)

  19. Great photos…your girls are too cute! My son’s first piano recital is coming up and we are really excited about it!

  20. I’m sorry I missed this past Monday, but I’m gonna get back to my schedule soon. 🙂
I love both these photos the girls look adorable, especially N’s hair.
And I think ice cream (or something similar) is definitely acceptable for dinner on such a wonderful occasion.
