Mommy and Me

mommy and me

This post may contain affiliate links. I may earn from qualifying purchases.

Recently, when looking for a picture of myself for my profile, I realized I had almost none of them.  Then, my mom came into town, and finally captured a good picture showing that “mommy really does exist.”

I learned I wasn’t alone.  So many other moms commented that they weren’t in picture, either.   In fact, they were missing from photo albums and scrapbooks, too.

Too often, we are the ones behind the camera instead of in the pictures.  We capture all of the moments with our kiddos, but almost none with us.

So, I am starting up a “Mommy and Me Monday.”  I am challenging you to get at least a picture of yourself with you child, or children once a week.  Then, on Mondays, you post that “Mommy and Me” picture with or without a story or fun anecdote about you and that child (not necessarily relating to the picture, just about you and the subject of that picture).

Of course, I know we all aren’t mommies…post pictures of you with your furbabies, or dads if you are the ones typically armed with the camera, let somebody else capture, you.

I also ask that you grab the code and post the button below.  Then fill out the linky every Monday.  That way, we can all say hi to the other mommies out there that aren’t photographed.

Head to the home page for the most recent Mommy and Me post and link up.

Cool! Get ready for pics of me with zoE and Leroy. Though they are four legged fur balls, they are definitely my babies! I don't think I have a single picture of me with both of them. This will even be a challenge for us parents with non-human babies.

I think this is a great idea because, as you know, I'm not a mommy, but I find that I am usually the one taking the pictures! There are hardly any pictures of Dearest and I together…boo!

I actually started a NEW blog separate from my 'regular' blog for this very thing – and every day for 2010 (well, so far all but 1) I am getting IN pictures with my kids. I don't know if I can keep it up all year, but I'm trying. The pics are far from glamerous – but there will be proof that I existed!

I realized this also on my own blog, that I have hardly any pics of me. I vowed to take pics with my kids no matter how I hideous I think I look- the 3 men in my life dont think that and STILL love me. Good idea!

Thank you for sharing your “be in a picture strategy.” I am never in pictures with my family because I am taking them and now I realize that that has to stop. I missed this Monday but I am putting it on my calendar and hope to join the families before me on linky.

    Thanks for this wonderful idea.

Krystyn-Thank you for putting this together, such a wonderful idea. I just recently became aware that I have a lot of pics of everyone but me with my son and it made me sad. So I remembered this linky and was able to post this week, thanks to a snapshot taken by his teacher.
