Some of my favorite gluten-free snacks

Since changing my diet over 4 months ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long) and cutting gluten and dairy from my life. My eating habits have changed. For the most part, I prefer to not try to use “gluten-free” replacements (it made with rice flour or quinoa flour) and instead try to incorporate healthier options. So, instead of eating noodles and bread, I’m eating more fruits and vegetables and nuts. It’s definitely a change for the better.

Of course, I’m human and I still like to eat snacks. After all, snacks keep your metabolism going and help make sure I’m getting enough nutrients for myself and for my breastfed daughter. So, I’ve had to go out and search for more snack options that still fit in my diet. Fortunately, I’ve found quite a few good ones.

Allergen friendly snacks

(Please always make sure to read labels and know what your diet needs. Several of these KIND bars do contain dairy and my hubby got to eat them. And, quite a few contain nuts!).

Some of my favorite gluten-free and dairy-free snacks.

Walnuts, almonds, pecans. Roasted or salted or sometimes even flavored. Obviously, not good for those with nut allergies.

Enjoy life: mega chunk chocolate chips. They are gluten, dairy, nut and soy free and DELICIOUS!

GoGo Squeez. So many yummy flavors (apple, apple cinnamon, apple mango and I’m holding out for apple pineapple) and the girls like them, too.

Kind bars. You definitely need to read the labels. They contain oats, but are certified gluten-free. Many of them have nuts and several have dairy. All of the ones I tried were amazing (and I was quite jealous I couldn’t try the flavors with caramel, but Mr. Serious did and said yum!).

Sevierly Good Organic Chocolate Cake Mix. This cake? Heaven! I didn’t even put any icing on it. I bought an ice cream cake for B’s baptism for everybody to eat, and they all wanted to eat my gluten-free cake!

And, it was super easy because I only had to add oil, but I decided to add half coconut oil and half Beech-Nut just honeycrisp apples (sauce). I figured it would either be a disaster or delicious.

gopicnic snack/meal packs. These are super handy and come in a ton of varieties. I’ve just thrown one in our diaper bag so I have something to eat should we end up eating at a place that isn’t gluten and dairy-free. (Again, check the labels because many of the items contain other things like nuts, soy and dairy).

Do you have a favorite snack? Allergen-free or not. PS I still eat all of the candy…and all of the potato chips!
