This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers Easy Ups. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.

I keep thinking, with four girls, one of them would just up and potty train themselves. Right? Apparently, the odds aren’t in our favor. Or at least yet! We’ve tried pretty much all of the methods between the three kids that are successful and well, I don’t think any of them were really ideal…so I’m holding out for B.

Because, you guys, she was SOOOOO excited to unbox her special Pamper’s Easy Ups package. Like I couldn’t have had it go any better! (Seriously, you MUST watch the video further down! I don’t think even my biased self is wrong here).

The joy of having her very own training underwear was and is uncontainable. She really feels so special with it.

The new and improved Pampers Easy Ups Training Underwear, a product designed to fit, feel, and look more like real underwear, while providing outstanding Pampers leakage protection, would appear to be her most prized possession. And, she couldn’t seem any more excited about them.

new pampers easy ups

BUUUTTTT….as excited as she is about her new Easy Ups, she is still working on her enthusiasm for celebrating the milestone of moving from diapers to underwear as “underwear training.”

We are excited about it, though. We are ready for being an underwear-only family. That sure feels weird to say…and exciting, too!

Why Pampers Easy Ups – the easiest way to underwear

I like that they look and feel more like underwear with a e 360° stretchy waistband and super soft material, but they have the leak protection that underwear doesn’t. Also, if there is an accident, they tear easily at the sides (but we won’t ever need that, right? Because again…B is so excited!) They are the only training underwear with Extra Absorb Channels™, helping to keep toddlers dry during the day AND night.

If you couldn’t tell, she might be obsessed with the fact that Dora the Explorer™ is on them! Just a little. And, E used to love getting the The Thomas the Engine™ ones because she liked the look of them better!

Pampers Easy Ups will be available nationwide in August 2016 in sizes 2T-3T, 3T-4T, and 4T-5T.

Check out her unboxing video here….I’m excited for this enthusiasm to translate to underwear training soon!

  1. Oh, so she was so excited!!!! Red was so delayed in his WANT to use the potty, not his ability. It took hanging a super prize action figure on the towel rack in the bathroom for two weeks to find success (after 10 months of coaxing). But then, he never went back!

  2. Seriously, so cute! Great job, B!! Yes, potty training is an adventure. I’ve already figured out that my 2 kids are completely different in this aspect and we’ve barely begun with E.

  3. I think these new easy ups will have my grandson excited to wear them. He hates the feeling of a “diaper”. My tip is to introduce them in a fun manner to get your child excited!

I have used potty training underwear, but sometimes I can not afford them so I make my own with underwear and old cloth diapers. They really work.

  5. Pat Chance says:

I saw a commercial for the new design recently. I think it’s a great idea to make them more like underwear. The old design were really hard for kids to pull up and down. Very cute video too.

My potty training tip would be to try and be patient! Easier said than done! 😉

These look interesting. I’ve never used something like this before. I just used diapers until they were ready for underwear. It grossed me out to think of them being able to pull these up and down themselves and create a possible smear situation… I just always went straight to underwear. I let them pick something they liked, a character they would recognize and care about. When they had an accident, I’d always say something like, “oh no! I can’t believe you peed on lightning McQueen (or whoever). He’s so sad…” They didn’t want that to happen again, so they were more conscious. My biggest tip is just starting early, way way early, (just after a year for my boys and a bit longer for my girl bc she was petite and couldn’t get on the potty). I used one of the kid potties and had the kids start sitting on it as soon as they could get on it themselves. We would do it at diaper changes and whenever I went to the bathroom. It was a very gradual process for us. I stuck with diapers until they could sleep through the night regularly without peeing in their diaper and were physically capable of pulling underwear off. Then they started wearing underwear.

    1. We tried this with one of our kids. It kind of worked, but overnight took forever! Like forever. Like we need 5-6T. So, that part didn’t work. And, they didn’t really care about peeing on their favorite character, either.

We also use mom’s morning out and they require training underwear and being accident free for 2 weeks, so we have to do this for a bit also. But we are doing a very gradual process, too!

    always bring extras..

you never know when an accident will happen

  22. My tip is be very patient and wait till they’re ready. Do not force it.

    1. Right. If you force them it could end up horrible. Even fearing the toilet! Or looking at it as punishment.

For myself… I had lots of leaking at day. Gut punished for it. Same for fecal leakage.
When i then moved back to diapers. My mom called me a Adult baby and didnt allowed me to use them…

Got bullied in school and later at my apprentienceship to mechatronican.
Then used them without her notice. At 16 i visited a doctor for this… And well. Im incontinent.

And there is a 9 year old that spends alot of time with me. (She is the cousin of our foster son)
She also has some small leaks at day and lots at night. Her mother says she is healthy and doesnt needs diapers.
THe girl itself asked me for some. And her matress at home is totally destroyed from pee.
She also wet my bed. She knew how to dry it with a towel… Smelled really terrible.

She didnt told me anything because she really feared that i would yell at her like her mother does when this happens.
Even after i told her about my incontinence and that there is a protective layer above the matress. And that she should tell me if it happens so i can wash her clothes and change the layer…

But the fear sits deep in her :/

let them wear underwear for short periods of time, time it, watch of those “I need to use the bathroom” signs. Helps to ease them into wearing underwear and potty training

Wait until they are showing signs of being ready. Ditch the diapers and pull ups and go right into panties, and have rewards ready and waiting for each time they go to show they’re doing good.
