April has consistently been a busy and crazy month in our house. Last year, I was gone one weekend to Florida’s Emerald Coast, spoke at Listen to Your Mother the next weekend, went to Mom2.0 the next and then the very next weekend (which was in May), I was at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration in Florida.

This year, I went to Dollywood, Mr. Serious went on a Men’s retreat and this past weekend, I went to California for Mom2.0. It’s been a whirlwind. I joked we would reconnect in May. Well, here it is May 1, and we are all home at the same time.

But, back to California for a few seconds because the view is pretty fantastic!

And, it was great being with friends at a conference and without kiddos for a few days.

And, even more friends, because friends are pretty important in life! Us moms need our friends to survive to every Mommy and Me Monday!

Of course, getting home to the hubby and the girls was of importance, too. I wanted to make sure they knew I missed them and get a little solo time and give Mr. Serious a break, too. We went out to lunch after church and headed right across the street to take the oldest three to see Zootopia (which I reviewed a while ago and the oldest saw with a friend). It was nice to come back to some time with them to be in my mom element without distractions for all of us.

Right when the credit were rolling, there was a loud crash of thunder, and the power went out. We headed out to a pretty bad downpour and hail. We waited a while and decided to run for it. After a fun run through the partially flooded parking lot and super wet feet, pants, and socks, we giggled our way into the car and went home.

The movie and time together was a nice way to ease through the end of the weekend and being back home without stressing too much about the week to come.

What were you up to this week?

Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.  Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friends’ husband.
