No, that’s not you hiding in the pantry eating the last cookie that you wouldn’t let your kid have before dinner. Nope. We never sneak around, right?
Right….
Sneaking with Netflix looks different to everybody. Sometimes it means watching a show on your phone with headphones while the kids are watching Moana for the 37th time. Maybe it means taking a tablet into the kitchen and watching Master of None while cooking dinner.
The data doesn’t lie. Netflix polled moms and verified the #MomSneak (or the ParentSneak!). 97% of moms say that they had more time for themselves before motherhood (who is that 3%??), and now, three-quarters (71%) of moms admit to sneaking in TV “me-time” while juggling a busy schedule, with some even hiding from their kids for just a moment of peace. With moms doing it anywhere and everywhere in the neighborhood when the kids aren’t around, sneaking is the new bingeing.
Some moms are watching while getting ready in the morning while others are streaming in the parking lot before goring into the store. According to a recent Netflix survey moms are feeling less stressed and more refreshed and even 19% say it makes them feel like a better parent by sneaking “me-time.” And dads, don’t feel left out. We know you need a break to sneak too.
Mr. Serious takes the kids to the grocery store on Saturdays…I usually try to catch a show or two in the silence. And, maybe I’ll get a little laundry folded while I’m watching.
